VIDYADAYINEE ENGLISH MEDIUM SCHOOL is established in 1991 by Hindu Vidydayinee Sangha [R] – Surathkal. The school has been provided with all necessary infra structural facilities and dedicated staffs over the years. The school has been doing very well in imparting quality education to the children in Karnataka State Syllabus. The school has established a bench mark by getting 100% results several times in SSLC public examination and secured rank at state level couple of times. The school is at the portal of 25 years of its useful existence.Many parents have been requesting for a CBSE school in the Management of the school decided to affiliate this school to the Central Board of Secondary Education-Delhi and took up the conversion of the school from State syllabus to Central as a project of the Centenary celebration of the HV Sangha[R].Hence CBSE syllabus was introduced in the school since June 2015 in Grades I TO VIII and the school applied for CBSE affiliation. During the year 2016-17 CBSE syllabus has been introduced in Grade VIII and Grade IX and X are continued in State syllabus.
Consequent to the introduction of CBSE syllabus in Vidyadayinee Engish Medium School several developmental activities have been taken up as per CBSE requirements. Damodar Rao Memorial building in the campus has been renovated and given to the school to house the Administrative block; Second floor with 12 class rooms and separate toilet facilities for girls and staff provided in the Academic block of the school building; Existing Boys Toilet block has been renovated and another floor added to provide the additional requirement of boys and girls. Assembly hall in first floor is convertd into class rooms and a staff room and the renovated assembly hall in the Damodar Rao memorial building is given to the school for assembling and arranging functions. The school laboratories are upgraded with water and gas fittings. The school library is also updated with more daily newspapers, magazines and periodicals. More books are being added in children selections, fictions, subject resource books , reference sections , reading room etc.., and library is being developed as knowledge centre.
The Management of the school has been training the existing teachers utilising the services of Academy of Creative Teachers (ACT) – Bengaluru. During the year classes from LKG to grade VI have been bifurcated to restrict the student strength to 40 in each section. Twelve more well qualified teachers have been appointed to effectively implement the Academic programmes and training of children as per CBSE norms. Our consultant and trainer, the ACT continues to do AH and Training visits by experts during 2016-17 also. The Management has started School Bus services by providing 2 buses in June 2016 with necessary equipments and staff to efficiently handle the bus services of the school as per the norms of the Government.
During the year 2017-18 it is proposed to start Grade IX with CBSE permission and Grade X will be in Karnataka State syllabus.
