What is ATL ?
The government of India has setup the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) at NITI AAyog. Realising the need to create scientific temper and cultivate the spirit of curiosity and innovation among young minds.
What is the objective and significance of ATL ?
Atal Tinkering Labs are dedicated works spaces where students learn innovation skills and develop ideas that will go on to transform India . The labs are powered to acquaint students with state of the art equipment such as 3D printers, robotics and electronics development tools, IOT and sensors etc.
The lab activities are designed to spur the spark of creativity and go beyond regular curriculum and text book learning. The labs will let students explore skills of future such as design and computational thinking , adaptive learning and artificial intelligence.
REPORT OF ATAL TINKERING LABORATORY AT V.E.M.S. ON 06-12-2019.
The inauguration of Atal Tinkering Laboratory was held on 6th December 2018 , Thursday in our school at 9.30 A.M. The guests of honour were Dr. Arun M Isloor , Associate Peofessor , Department of Chemistry, NITK Surathkal, Sri. E.Janardhana , President H.V.Sangha Surathkal, Sri I. Ramananda Bhat, Managing Trustee, Iddya Mahalingeshwara Temple and Dr. Bharath Y. Shetty, Honourable MLA Mangaluru North.
The inauguration was conducted by the chief guest Dr. Arun M. Isloor by cutting the ribbon. After the inauguration there was lightening the lamp by the guests, teachers and students of the school. After the inauguration there was a stage programme. The programme started with a prayer. After the invocation the correspondent of our school Sri Jayachandra Hathwar welcomed the gathering.
Sri Ramananda Bhat , Managing Trustee , Iddya Mahalingeshwara Temple blessed us on this occasion. Dr. Bharath Shetty , Honourable MLA, Mangaluru North spoke about the importance of “ATAL LAB”.
Dr. Arun M.Isloor in his inaugural speech spoke about the significance of Technology in the present world. In the presidential address , the president of H.V.Sangha Surathkal Sri E. Janardhana highlighted about the involvement of the young minds in the Tinkering labs and to develop the personality of the children.
The secretary of H.V.Sangha Sri Venkat Rao, the correspondent Sri Jayachandra Hatwar and the principal Sri Shrikanth Chiplunkar and various other dignitiries and science teachers were also present.
We have also organised an Inter School Science Exhibition in our school premises. We are planning to conduct various workshops for various schools, colleges, communities and the public.
Smt. Sumathi D. Rao proposed the vote of thanks. Smt. Asha B. Amin was the master of ceremony.
Industrial Visit
“There are 48 students and 3 teachers of Government High School, Meenakaliya were participated in the workshop on introducing tools and development of different models at our ATL LAb”.
